The Student Senate is the primary voting body of the Student Government. It consists of two senators from each academic class, four campus-wide senators, two off-campus senators, and is chaired by the Vice President of Student Government. Meetings of the Student Senate are open for observation by any member of the undergraduate student body. The Vice President provides the agenda, minutes, and vote count of all meetings as public record.

The General Assembly Committees debate, consider, and recommend to the Senate all matters that fall under its preview. The committees must vote to recommend for approval of a bill or resolution before the piece of legislation can move to the Student Senate for final approval.
